Drug & Alcohol Abuse Support

The province of Alberta is surrounded by mountains, prairies, desert badlands and coniferous forests. Between the trees and farming fields, a growing number of people are facing addiction in the western province, and professional Alberta interventions are needed now more than ever for those who are struggling.

In May 2017, the government created the new Minister’s Opioid Emergency Response Commission because the number of Fentanyl-related deaths is continuing to rise. Between January-March in 2016, 71 people died due to the extremely potent opioid. In 2017, during the same period, 122 people lost their lives to addiction.

Professional interventionist Andy Bhatti has seen the number of Albertans struggling with drug and alcohol dependence grow in 2017. As Alberta’s petroleum industry goes through ebb and flow periods, Andy is seeing more addicted individuals come forward needing help.

“I provide interventions in Alberta because the demand is increasing. With the fentanyl and the opioid and cocaine crisis in Alberta, it makes it the second worst province in Canada for drug addiction. The province is also in the top three provinces with the worst available resources.”
